Privacy Policy

How CredenGo collects, uses, discloses, retains and protects personal information.

1. Privacy responsibility

CredenGo is committed to protecting personal information and handling it in accordance with applicable Canadian privacy law, including PIPEDA and, where applicable, Quebec private-sector privacy requirements as amended by Law 25. Privacy questions, complaints or rights requests can be submitted through the support form.

2. Personal information we may collect

  • Identity and contact information: legal name, date of birth, address, phone number, email address, government identification when required, and Social Insurance Number when required or voluntarily provided for an authorized credit-reporting purpose.
  • Financial and billing information: payment-method details, billing history, payment status and refund information. Card or banking information may be processed by third-party payment providers rather than stored directly by CredenGo.
  • Credit and account information: membership details, account activity, payment history, reported tradeline information, rent or utility information, and information received from or provided to consumer reporting agencies where authorized.
  • Technical information: IP address, device and browser information, log data, pages visited, referring URLs and similar website-use information.
  • Marketing and communication information: consent preferences, support messages, campaign engagement and survey or feedback responses.
  • Sensitive information: information such as a Social Insurance Number is collected only where reasonably necessary and with the level of consent required by law.

3. How we use personal information

  • Verify identity, eligibility and account ownership.
  • Create, operate and support CredenGo accounts and services.
  • Process authorized payments and manage billing.
  • Provide credit-building, rent, utility and related reporting services.
  • Communicate account, payment, security and service updates.
  • Respond to support requests and disputes.
  • Prevent fraud, abuse and security incidents.
  • Meet legal, regulatory, accounting, tax and contractual obligations.
  • Analyze and improve products, website performance and customer experience.
  • Send marketing communications where permitted by law and consent.

4. Consent

CredenGo obtains consent before collecting, using or disclosing personal information unless an exception is permitted or required by law. The form of consent depends on the sensitivity of the information and the context. Express consent is used for sensitive information and for credit-file access or credit reporting where required. You may withdraw consent subject to legal and contractual restrictions; doing so may prevent CredenGo from continuing a service that depends on that consent.

5. Disclosure of personal information

CredenGo may disclose personal information only as reasonably necessary to consumer reporting agencies, payment processors, identity-verification providers, hosting and infrastructure providers, communication providers, analytics or support vendors, professional advisers, regulators, courts, law-enforcement bodies or a successor organization in a legitimate corporate transaction. Service providers are expected to protect the information and use it only for authorized purposes. CredenGo does not sell personal information for monetary consideration.

6. Cross-border processing and service providers

Personal information may be processed in Canada and, depending on the service provider used, in another country. Information processed outside Canada can be subject to the laws and lawful-access rules of that jurisdiction. CredenGo uses contractual, organizational and technical measures intended to protect information handled by service providers.

7. Retention

CredenGo keeps personal information only as long as reasonably required for the purposes for which it was collected and to meet legal, regulatory, tax, accounting, reporting, security and dispute-resolution obligations. Different categories of information may have different retention periods. When information is no longer required, it is deleted, destroyed or anonymized using reasonable safeguards.

8. Security safeguards

Safeguards may include encryption in transit, restricted administrative access, least-privilege controls, secure development practices, vendor review, account authentication controls and incident-response procedures. No storage or transmission method is completely risk-free. If a breach creates a legally reportable risk, CredenGo will follow applicable notification and record-keeping requirements.

9. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to personal information, correct inaccurate information, withdraw consent, request information about disclosures, and exercise additional rights available under Quebec or other applicable privacy laws. CredenGo may need to verify your identity before processing a request and may rely on lawful exceptions where applicable.

10. Cookies and tracking

CredenGo may use cookies, pixels and similar technologies to operate the website, remember preferences, understand traffic and measure marketing. Where required, consent will be obtained for non-essential tracking. Browser controls may allow you to limit cookies, although some site functions may be affected.

11. Children

CredenGo services are intended for adults. CredenGo does not knowingly collect personal information from people who have not reached the age of majority in their province or territory for membership services.

12. Automated processing

CredenGo may use automated tools to support identity verification, fraud prevention, account administration or service delivery. Where applicable law creates notice, explanation or human-review rights for a decision based exclusively on automated processing, CredenGo will follow those requirements.

13. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated to reflect changes in services, technology or legal requirements. The current version will be posted on credengo.com. Where law requires advance notice or renewed consent, CredenGo will provide it before applying the change.

14. Contact

Privacy questions, access or correction requests, withdrawals of consent and complaints can be submitted through the CredenGo support form.
