Credit Reporting Consent
Collection, use and disclosure of personal information for credit-reporting services.
1. Background
CredenGo provides credit-building services in Canada, which may include tradeline reporting, rent reporting, utility reporting and verified historical rent reporting. To deliver these services, CredenGo may need to collect, use and disclose personally identifiable information.
2. Personal information that may be collected
- Full legal name and date of birth.
- Current and previous residential addresses.
- Email address and telephone number.
- Social Insurance Number when required or voluntarily provided for an authorized bureau-matching purpose.
- Payment history, including successful, late or missed payments.
- CredenGo account or tradeline details, including applicable limit, balance and status.
- Rent amounts, tenancy details and supporting documents.
- Utility account and payment information.
- Payment-method information needed for authorized billing.
3. Purposes
This information may be used to create and maintain your account, provide subscribed services, verify identity, prevent fraud, process authorized payments, communicate service updates, satisfy legal obligations, and report eligible account, rent or utility information to Equifax Canada or another disclosed consumer reporting agency.
4. Authorization to report
By affirmatively accepting this consent, you authorize CredenGo to collect, use and disclose the information reasonably required to report your eligible account activity and payment performance to Equifax Canada and any other consumer reporting agency identified to you. Reported information may include identifying information, payment history, limits, balances and account status.
5. Effect of reporting
You understand that both positive and adverse payment information may affect your credit file or credit score. Information lawfully and accurately reported to a bureau becomes part of the bureau's records and generally cannot simply be removed at your request, although inaccurate information can be disputed and corrected through applicable processes.
6. Privacy and security
CredenGo will use reasonable administrative, technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information. Access should be limited to personnel and service providers who need the information for authorized purposes.
7. Third parties
Information may be shared with consumer reporting agencies, payment processors, identity-verification providers and other service providers that assist with the services, subject to applicable privacy obligations. Information may also be disclosed where lawfully required by a court, regulator or other competent authority.
8. Retention
Personal information will be retained for as long as reasonably required to provide the services, complete reporting obligations, resolve disputes and meet legal, regulatory, accounting or security requirements, then securely deleted, destroyed or anonymized as appropriate.
9. Withdrawal of consent
You may withdraw consent subject to legal and contractual restrictions. If consent is necessary to provide a reporting service, withdrawal may require that service to end. Withdrawal does not require a bureau or CredenGo to erase accurate information that was already lawfully reported before the withdrawal took effect.
10. Access and correction
You may request access to personal information held by CredenGo and ask that inaccurate or incomplete information be corrected, subject to applicable exceptions. Requests can be submitted through the support form.
11. Electronic consent record
When this consent is accepted online, CredenGo may record the date and time, relevant account/session identifiers, IP address and browser or device information as evidence of the consent, subject to the Privacy Policy and applicable law.
12. Confirmation
By checking an active, non-preselected consent box or otherwise giving an equivalent affirmative electronic acceptance, you confirm that you have read and understood this consent and authorize the collection, use, disclosure and credit reporting described above.
